Singer Subaru in Plaistow NH now offers the anxiously awaited 2012 Subaru Impreza, a complete redesign of Subaru’s compact sedan and four-door hatchback.

Along with new exterior and interior styling, both body styles boast increased interior space, a new engine and much-improved gas mileage. Singer Subaru offers the Impreza in five trim levels: 2.0i, 2.0i Premium, 2.0i Limited, 2.0i Sport Premium (hatchback only) and 2.0i Sport Limited.

A CVT is available on any of the lower trim levels and becomes standard on the Limited and hatchback Sport Premium. The Premium, Limited and Sport levels add a manual mode and steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles that select among six arbitrary gear ratios.

Singer Subaru Highlights Safety Features of 2012 Impreza

For safety, four-wheel-disc brakes are standard on all models. As required on all 2012 models, the Impreza has antilock brakes and an electronic stability system. The Impreza has seven airbags: the required frontal pair, front-seat-mounted side-impact torso airbags, side curtains and a knee airbag for the driver.

Subaru was the only manufacturer with every 2011 model named an IIHS Top Safety Pick, and the expectation is that the 2012 models will rank just as well. From its seven airbags, to its 4-wheel disc brakes with Brake Assist, to its VDC electronic stability control, it’s loaded with active and passive safety features. It also has the traction of Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.

The crowning achievement for the new 2012 Subaru Impreza – especially with oil prices on the rise – is its fuel economy, which sees an increase of 30 percent (with the CVT). Subaru estimates will register an EPA rating of 27 mpg city/36 mpg highway (25/33 for the 5-speed manual) and a tank range of over 500 miles.
